Welcome to Charles Darwin class! We are a class of Yr5 and Yr6 children who have Mr Harmer as our class teacher. Our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Woodhouse, Mrs Scott, Mrs Paton and Mr Hughes. We are extremely fortunate to have a number of specialists teaching our class at various times during the year. Mr Hall will be taking us for music, Mrs Antliff PE/Games, Swimming coaches will lead the sessions at St James' Pool, whilst Mrs Tumber will be teaching us French.
Homework will be set on a Friday and must be returned to school by the following Friday. There will be a piece of English and a piece of Maths each week. Reading should be done regularly at home too, and there may be occasional ‘extra’ homework too!
Each of our classes, this year, has been named after a famous scientist. We are named after one of the most famous British scientists of all time, Charles Darwin. He was the Victorian naturalist and biologist who became famous for his evolutionary biology which suggested that all species of fauna on Earth were descended from a common ancestor.
