Promoting Fundamental British Values

In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is "right" and "wrong", all people living in England are subject to its law.

As a Church of England Primary Academy want our children to become responsible, active citizens who participate in democratic and public life with respect for diversity and a commitment to working towards greater community cohesion. Personal, social, health education and citizenship is at the heart of our academy which emphasis the difference between right and wrong and respecting and tolerating differences in a very diverse and modern Britain. We have planned a curriculum that will enable children to make progress towards these aims. Through engaging lessons, using challenges and appropriate activities we can give them all a better understanding of themselves and others in their community; secure and influence behaviour and attendance and encourage life long learning.
