Welcome to Sea Turtle Class. Mrs Allitt is our class teacher and Mrs Spencer teaches on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday. Our Teaching assistants are Mrs Ashford, Miss Robertson and Mrs Wardill. We have lots of exciting activities planned for this term. Keep your eyes peeled for updates and photos on our class page.
PE
PE kit is plain white, or house colour, t-shirt (both available for purchase in the school office), PE shorts and trainers. Unless the children can confidently tie their own shoelaces, please buy trainers with Velcro! The children are also encouraged to bring in a tracksuit (or school PE ‘hoody’ also available from the school office) during this term as it can get quite chilly and we do aim to be outside for as much PE as possible.
Kits should be in school all week, brought in on Monday and can stay in school they do not need to be taken on a Friday.
OUTDOOR FOOTWEAR and CLOTHING
Children should bring outdoor footwear (separate to school shoes or PE trainers) to change into to go onto the school field at playtimes and lunchtimes. Appropriate outside footwear are Velcro trainers (or laces for those who can tie them independently) or wellington boots. As the weather gets cooler children should have a warm coat in school as we encourage outdoor play in all weathers.
READING
We aim to listen to each child read individually each week, as well as guided reading and whole class reading sessions. Book bags need to be brought in every day, Children are also allowed to borrow a book from the main library each Friday to take home and share with you at home. Children are also allowed to borrow a book from the class library collection, to keep in their book bags.
HOMEWORK
Weekly homework will be handed out on a Tuesday, this will include Tackling Tables and Spellings. We will also have a topic project each half term. We encourage children to read at home every night if possible.
SNACKS
If children would like to purchase a snack at break time please bring in 30p. Snacks include Belvita biscuits, ‘Special K’ bars and Fruit Flakes. Children are welcome to bring a snack, this must be a plain biscuit or a piece of fruit. Each child has their own water bottle in class. Children are allowed plain water only.
KLFM Visit
We had a visit from Simon Rowe from KLFM. He brought us Be safe, Be seen stickers. He also talked to the children about what makes a good teacher for the KLFM hero awards. You can listen to the children and see the blog on the link below.
